Jessie let out a squeal with delight as she kicked. The force of her kicking splashed water all over the bathtub and covered her mother’s clothes. It was obvious to her mum, Jen, that Jessie loved the water. I should really wear my swimming togs next time, Jen thought, with amusement.
Jessie was 7 months old and was just able to sit up, with little support, in the bathtub. This newfound freedom seemed to be fascinating to Jessie and Jen delighted in watching her explore.
Jen waited for her daughter to grow tired of the bath, but it didn’t seem like it would happen anytime soon. She finally decided that she had allowed enough time then gently lifted Jessie from the water. She wrapped her in a soft towel and dressed her in some clean clothes. Jen sat her daughter down, to watch, as she finished packing up the bathroom. She pulled the bath plug and went to pack away the lotions. She noticed that she didn’t hear the usual gurgle of the emptying drain and turned her attention to the bath. To her surprise, the water had hardly drained at all!
“What’s going on?” she said. She placed her hand in the water and felt around the drain for any obstruction but found nothing. “Uh oh,” she said as she realised that there must have been a blockage of some kind. “Mummy needs to call a plumber,” she said to her daughter. Jessie looked at her mum with wide eyes.
Jen was only new to Hunters Hill so she wasn’t aware of the plumbers in the area. She decided to go with Jessie to ask their neighbour, Sally. Jen found Sally most accommodating, since they had moved in, and hoped that she knew of a plumber nearby.
As luck would have it, Sally was very aware of the best plumbing company in the area. Sally had dealt with them on many occasions and couldn’t speak highly enough of them. She went on to say that they operated not only in Hunters Hill but also in Woolwich, Linley Point, Gladesville, Henely, Lane Cove and Lower North Shore. Sally called, on behalf of Jen, and arranged for them to visit in the next hour to fix the blocked drain. Jen thanked Sally for her assistance and returned home to wait.
She didn’t have to wait too long because the plumber arrived 25 minutes later! She was shocked that he was able to make it so quickly. The plumber introduced himself to Jen and Jessie. Jen noticed how kind and friendly he was and found out that he had young children of his own.
The plumber started working on the fixing the blocked drain immediately and had it cleared half an hour later. He even made sure to clean up any mess that he had made in her home. She was ecstatic with the total cost and that it was able to be repaired that day. She never imagined that a plumbing company, that good, existed. She asked for his business card and made sure that she would have it somewhere safe, should another plumbing problem arise.
